What is your favourite thing about being in the outdoors and what does it mean to you?
I really love that "free" feeling you get .. It's hard to explain, but nothing beats that feeling you get when you walk in the mountains and you just see endless mountain ranges. No buildings, no car noises - It's just you and nature.
How did you first hear about or experience FOREVER FRESH?
I first heard about Forever Fresh from my friend Grant. I trust his opinion and when he told me about Forever Fresh I knew I had to try it out! So excited to take Forever Fresh along on all of my adventures.
If you could go anywhere in the world (without any limitations), where would you travel/explore?
Haha ahh, I would want to go to sooo many places! It's so hard to choose, so I'll have to say my Top 3. I would like to go to either Hawaii, Lapland or Nieu Zeeland.
What does the world need more of?
Faith, Kindness and Understanding
What is a saying, quote or mantra you live by?
I always liked the quote by Hellen Keller: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all". I don't necessarily live by it, but I always tell myself to make things happen and do everything I can, because one day I would like to say "I did that" instead of saying "I wish I did that".
What has been your greatest adventure so far?
Again, there are so many to choose from so I will have to say my Top 3. First, in 2017 my family and I visited Bali and decided to do a hike up Mount Batur (it's an active volcano). It's not just an ordinary hike, you have to wake up at 02:00, drive to the mountain and start hiking up at around 03:00-ish in order to make see the sunrise from on top of the mountain. After the sunrise, we took the trail less traveled and walked around the volcanic crater and made our way down. Second, in 2018 I had the privilege to swim with whale sharks in Mexico. This was an unbelievable experience! Third, hiking up the Drakensberg is always a great adventure and one that I will never get tired of. The views you get leave you speechless.
What do you hope to do more of this year?
Definitely A LOT more overnight hikes. Already have them planned and the one I'm looking forward to most is the The Drakensberg Grand Traverse (12-day hike).
What is the number 1 item on your bucket list?
Spend a night on Antarctica
What does sustainability mean to you?
We only have one Earth. This Earth should be able to provide for not only us, but also future generations to come. Sustainability for me, means that we look after our own needs, but in such a way that we will still be able to provide for future generations to come.
