What is your favourite thing about being in the outdoors and what does it mean to you?
There is a connection and recognition of existence outdoors that eludes you day-to-day in an office, in the traffic, on the treadmill. When in the mountains, staggering up a pass, or pushing my way through spiderwebs in a forest, drinking water straight from a river, I’m reminded that nothing else matters except that next step, that deep breath, those birds swooping by, only those shadows right there. Only the Here & Now needs your attention. Just look at it all around you, isn’t being alive just exquisite?
How did you first hear about or experience FOREVER FRESH?
I came across Forever Fresh when looking for hiking meals and dehydrated/freeze-dried food online
If you could go anywhere in the world (without any limitations), where would you travel/explore?
South American jungle and mountains! More specifically the Amazon and Patagonia. But vying for this coveted Adventuring position is the Arctic Circle in summer
What does the world need more of?
Common sense, compassion and accountability
What is a saying, quote or mantra you live by?
“(She) attacked everything in life with a mix of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence and it was often difficult to tell which was which.” - Douglas Adams
What has been your greatest adventure so far?
My now-husband and I took 2 weeks to tackle 3 multi day hikes. It was wonderful, just the two of us road tripping and hiking through our beautiful country. We hiked around the panorama route, Magoebaskloof and finished off with a 3 day Amphitheatre mission. Fish River Canyon was also a fantastic experience!
What do you hope to do more of this year?
Intentional personal growth. Give myself a chance to progress and improve in the areas I want to
What is the number 1 item on your bucket list?
I want to learn to freedive. (Whale Sharks being involved would be the absolute cherry on top)
What does sustainability mean to you?
Putting environmental health concerns above convenience and the bottom line. To elaborate: making consumer or production decisions based on what is responsible and best for the environment and longevity thereof instead of what is cheapest and easiest right now
